Dave has been on the radio for over 30 years (He started when he was 8). And along with radio, he is a successful improv & standup comedian and he even performs singing telegrams. (Do you have a a birthday coming up?) He is also a licensed real estate agent to two states. (Want to sell your house?) Dave’s main goal in life is making others laugh.
Lindzey has been working for My Town Media for 20 years and is host to many shows in our company including:
The KISS 103.1’s Morning Show in Emporia, week days from 6am to 10am
Hot 105.5’s Morning Show in Chanute, week days from 6am to 10am
97.7 The Dawg’s Midday Show in Burlington, week days from 10am to 2pm
KISS 104.7’s Midday Show in Hays, week days from 9am to 2pm
Lindzey got into the radio business at 18, right out of high school as her attempt to dodge college, no really it was because she loves music, however, she can’t sing a note and never learned to play an instruments, but she has always loved to learn about bands and different genres of music. Lindzey says radio gave her the opportunity to be around music even if it was just talking about it. Lindzey is a concert junky, she loves live music and the atmosphere of being in a stadium or venue listening to her favorite songs played right in front of her, it has always been an escape for her. She loves Alternative Rock and her favorite song is Creep by Stone Temple Pilots.
A message from Lindz, “I have two amazing boys. My oldest shy and really into sports. My youngest is outgoing and into anything that is wild and wacky. I’m married to a wonderful husband who I’ve been with almost as long as I’ve been working here at MyTown Media which means we had a lot of dates in a studio playing cards while I was board op’ing high school football / basketball games when we first met. We also have a cat named “Silver” who is the queen of our house and knows it.”
When asked about her favorite sports team, “Depends, if my husband and boys are asking me, because then it’s the Kansas City Chiefs. If they’re not around then it’s the Dallas Cowboys.”
Lindzey’s Favorite Quote: “I’m not a woman. I’m a force of nature.” – Courtney Love

Gene AKA The Bounty Hunter has been with My Town Media for 11 years after receiving a phone call one afternoon asking if he wanted to a DJ on the radio station, he said “Sure”, the rest is history! Gene is the Program Director, does production and is an on-air show host weekday afternoons from 2pm to 7pm on 97.7 The Dawg. The thing he enjoys most about his job is the pay, the people he works with and his favorite part is production.
Gene’s family has lived near Burlington since 1856, so that definitely makes him a “local” to the area. He has a background in law enforcement and bail bonds(hence the name “The Bounty Hunter”). He served four years in the U. S. Navy as an electronics technician on jet aircraft. Gene is happily married, his kids have grown, left the house and have been replaced by two Yorkies. Now his thing is radio. He has also played bass in several bands for many years but is now taking a break. In his free time Gene enjoys hard rock music and has his own DJ business and likes to travel. He’s not a big sports fan but occasionally he will watch the Kansas City Chiefs.
Gene’s favorite quote: “If it works…don’t fix it!” and “KISS = Keep It Simple Stupid”

I’ve have been with My Town Media for a Just under 2 years. I’m the afternoon guy, I’m on from 2-6 Monday thru Friday, and on Friday’s bring you 35 South on the My Country Stations! I love the listeners and meeting them, I also love sharing Red Dirt music with the state of Kansas. I play Golf, love most sports, and My Daughters play Volleyball. One in College and one in High School, so I’m usually watching them play. I have a lot of “favorite” songs, and my favorite genres are Red Dirt and 80’s rock.
I have two daughters, one in college and one in high school. We also have a dog in our house, her name is Trixie, and she’s amazing. My favorite sports teams are Chiefs, Bears, Royals, Cubs and Shockers!!
When asked about his favorite quote, The more I work and practice, the luckier I seem to get.” -Gary Player
I’m a military brat that grew up around the country. I went to 8 schools in 12 years, before graduating from Claflin High School. I joined the USAF 14 days after my 18th birthday, spending time in Texas, Colorado, Kansas and Japan. I then went to Fort Hays State University and graduated in 3.5 years. I started my Radio Career while in College starting in Great Bend at KHOK, then off to KRSL/KCAY in Russell, back to Great Bend and KZLS, then to Dodge City, transferred to Hutch and in 2000, Wichita. I’ve worked for KFH and KEYN at Entercom, KFDI/KFXJ and KICT at the Journal Broadcast Group, KVWF/KIBB at Connoisseur Media Wichita, KVWF/KIBB/KKGQ with Rocking M Media, and now I’m with the My Country brand while programming it as well for KQZQ, KKDT, KHDL, and KBIK. For the last 9 years I’ve been hosting the award winning 35 South Radio program, showcasing and promoting Red Dirt music through out the state of Kansas.
I’ve been fortunate enough to have won the CMA Award for Medium Market Personality in 2007 as part of the Dan Tooker in the Morning show. I’ve also been honored by the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards 7 times 4 times for Out of Region Station of the year and 3 times for Out of Region Personality of the Year. I have also received KAB Runner-up and Honorable Mention awards for 35 South.
So that’s Me in a nutshell.
